This book is a collection drawn from a much larger archive. It’s a diary, a love letter and a record not only of my own life, but of the lives entwined with my own.

I began photographing my life at eleven years old. What started as a habit became a compulsion: a need to hold onto moments that felt both fragile and fleeting. Over time, the act of photographing became more than documentation, it became a tool to process the world around me. In self-portraits taken from hospital beds, the camera was a way of confronting myself. When turned toward others, it became an act of intimacy, a way of showing love and preserving it. Hard times feel softer when they come with the token of a photograph.

The images here capture my chosen family. Hedonistic communion. Fragments of intimacy and connection found in clubs, repurposed warehouses, sex parties and flats owned by slum landlords. My friend’s immediate reaction to his cousins suicide, sex workers at work, my talented friends in their studios and moments spent in bed with them.

“The Diary Project” is my way of keeping those moments close, of immortalising the people I love, the ones I have lost, the strangers who passed through just for the night, and the places that held us. Everyone has an archive, a family album. This is mine.

The photographs in this book were made between 2016 and 2025.
